Introduction I enjoy hiking, running, jogging, biking, snowshoeing, quail watching, hanging out in used book stores, and of course the playing, teaching or learning about the royal game of chess.
Interests CHESS! Running/jogging; Bike riding; Hiking; Reading books on Science; Politics and of course CHESS. I also do like watching JEOPARDY and THE OFFICE on NBC and the LEHRER NEWS HOUR; FRONTLINE and some specials on OPB. Nowadays I do not watch any TV at all - just too busy. I do like to watch CSPAN online... tis the only way to find out about what is really going on in U.S. & World Politics without some ignorant loud mouth talking about actual and complex events in ten seconds flat and shouting down "guests". Good bye to all that - FOX NEWS! THE WORST PROPAGANDA MACHINE IN THE WORLD - FREE YOUR MIND AND STOP WATCHING FOX! When I can I love to hang out in used book stores, museums and Animal parks. Not that I have time for that anymore!

Favorite Music I listen to so much music while driving to and from my chess clubs... I have a lot of favorites. Too many to list here! I love CHUMBWAMBA'S "UN", "TUBTHUMPING" and "READYMADES" and "WYSIWYG". I listen to a lot of MODEST MOUSE = "THE LONESOME CROWDED WEST", "WE WERE DEAD BEFORE THE BOAT EVEN SANK", "GOOD NEWS FOR PEOPLE WHO LOVE BAD NEWS" and "NO ONE'S FIRST AND YOUR NEXT". Audio books are big but like I said - not enough room to list everything that I like to listen to here!
Favorite Books "ABUSING SCIENCE - The case against Creationism" by Philip Kitcher, "THE ORIGON OF THE SPECIES" by Charles Darwin, "U.S. CHESS FEDERATION'S OFFICIAL RULES OF CHESS" 5th Edition by Tim Just & Daniel B. The squish of mud between your toes; how would you live your life as a frog?

Enjoying the sun, the swimming and the scenery. I would guard my legs against frog poachers! I would avoid snakes - of the two legged or no legged variety - like a plague!
