Introduction | English lit graduate trying to re-ignite her love of writing via this blog. My days are spent working in Aberdeen's Oil and Gas industry while my nights are spent making ill-advised attempts to become a domestic goddess in the home that I share with my lovely-but-long-suffering Other Half. After 5 days earning a crust (or burning one in the oven) weekends are for making unnecessary fashion and beauty purchases or devouring a bottle of pinot with the usual suspects. Leopard print, red lipstick and cups of tea are my kyptonite. |
Interests | Writing, reading, fashion, beauty, the cult of social media, and all that geeky stuff in between |
Favorite Movies | I love movies - I love the cinema experience and the art of making movies. I get so mad if there are no extras on a DVD! Genre-wise I like most things. Je deteste Dirty Dancing however. Patrick Swayze's snake hips do NOT appeal and I don't have any affinity with Watermelon, thanks. |
Favorite Music | I have a very ecletic music collection with a soft spot of movie soundtracks and I'm partial to rock and indie bands with strong female frontwomen. |
Favorite Books | Stephen King's The Stand, The Time Traveller's Wife, The C Word, Left Behind, Room, Gone Girl, Diary of a London Call Girl, Her Fearful Symmetry, 1984, Poor Things, The Annotated Alice, Before I Sleep, His Dark Materials Trilogy, The Sookie Stackhouse novels, Around The World in 80 Dates...chick lit is to be avoided but anything remotely dystopian will do. And Cosmopolitan - for when I'm feeling shallow. |
For your birthday, your aunt gave you a maple syrup dispenser shaped like a rooster. Please write her a thank-you note:
Dear Aunt, Thank you for your kind gift of a Rooster-shaped Maple Syrup dispenser. Being vertically challenged, in the past I have found reaching on tippy toes into the condiments cupboard to find my beloved maple syprup a chore. Now I can relax safe in the knowledge my syprup is on proud display and firmly within reach as an ornamental Rooster.
