| 紹介 | I’ve always enjoyed my city, Mumbai, except when violence has erupted between communities. Most people seem to get along fine. We’re proud of our own community and accept that others are naturally proud of theirs. But there’s a handful in every community who are extremely suspicious of those differences. I’ve always wanted to know why secularism is such a threat to them. I’ve touched on this in “Never Mind Yaar” too. But first and foremost, the book is about the carefree years of college, friendship between three girls from different backgrounds and young love. More on this thread in the “About the Book” section. I visited India in Dec2010 and was shocked to see the permanent smog choking our cities. My family in India didn’t seem worried. Was I overly concerned? I felt I should write about the environment but from what angle? I felt answering the following questions would be useful - What do we breathe in besides O2? How Exactly are we polluting our water and soil? What gases do our garbage piles release? Why are they dangerous for our health? For a list of my posts please go to the, “Contents” page. |
