About Me

I grew up on Ocean Station Victor in the crew of the U.S.C.G.C. Chautauqua. Prior to that experience I was simply adrift. After that I had a much improved focus. After leaving the Coast Guard I finished my Engineering degree and spent the next 25 years designing antenna systems, computer test systems, ocean modeling software, and ways to bend other engineers to my will. Now I teach math in a 'failing' school district with the hardest working, most devoted people I've ever had the privilige of calling colleagues. I've discovered that writing, which I love, is the best way for me to analyze things (another favorite thing). My work provides a target rich environment for someone who enjoys analyzing broken systems. I blog to learn. Hopefully, in that pursuit, my successes will create value to share at this humongous water cooler.
