About Me
Educated Berkhamsted; Studied Inst of Arch (Univ of London), 1969-1972; Have dug at Swanscombe 1971; Rickson's Pit & Baker's Hole 1970; Dorchester 1970; Oatlands palace 1968 & Highgate Wood 1972,+ many other digs. Between 1971 & 1984 was a member of the Bourne Society; Also Surrey Arch Soc; I grew interested in Industrial Archaeology, in particular, Brewing industry in Surrey - Have written a book on brewing using Reigate as a case study.I am a member of the Brewery History Society, & served on the Committee until c1998, I was also Soc. Surrey Recorder. I remarried in 1987 & moved to Horsham. I am a life-member of the Sussex Arch. Soc., and am also a member of The Worthing Arch. Soc. I am now retired, and my creaking old bones prevent me from spending long hours crouched down in a trench. However, I now feel I have found my niche in W.A.S., having founded a Northern Section to the Society covering territory from Pulborough northwards to the Sussex/Surrey Border, Current project the Dedisham Estate and RB Settlement site at Alfoldean, Slinfold.
