About Me

For 15 years, I’ve been a strategic planner in advertising agencies (Lowe, D'Arcy, MCBD, The Campaign Palace, JWT). I’m now Head of Strategy at Carat Sydney. I've written on digital youth culture and brand innovation for Contagious magazine and X-tribes in the UK and for B&T and AdNews in Australia. I still love technology, gadgets and science fiction, from when I almost studied Engineering, and maintain a keen interest in Philosophy, which I read at Cambridge. I write because I can't help it. Quite a few people say they find my blog 'distracting', which I take as a compliment. This blog was also highly commended in the 2007 Atticus Awards for original published work - judged by Jim Stengel, Global Marketing Officer, Procter & Gamble, David Kirkpatrick of Fortune Magazine and Judie Lannon of Market Leader. So goes the trumpet solo.
