About Me

I grew up in Colorado at the foot of the Rocky Mountains, then lived in Europe before coming back to Colorado. I have two sons in college. I started my writing career as a columnist and investigative reporter and eventually became the first woman editor of two different papers. After winning several national journalism awards, including the National Journalism Award for Public Service, I decided to get serious about my lifelong dream of writing fiction. My first book was published in 2003, and it's been a crazy ride since.
