Introduction | I am a senior Undergraduate student at the University of Oregon, where I study Sociology, Comparative Literature, and Spanish. I'm involved in some amazing organizations in Eugene, including participation in the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program, volunteering with No More Deaths (a humanitarian aid group that works with migrants in Arizona) and Volunteers in Medicine (where I work as a Spanish/English translator, and participation at the UO Wesley Center, a Methodist campus ministry. I've traveled in seven countries in Latin America, and can't wait for my next chance to go back. My experiences there, especially in Chile, Guatemala, and Peru, had a huge impact on who I am now. I consider myself to be a scholar, writer, activist, traveler, and generally an active presence in our world. I'm also a blogger for the UO, so you should check me out there: http://www.isupportuoregon.org/my_duckstory/blog/katie_d |
