Introduction | I was born in South Africa, and after completing school at St Andrews College, Grahamstown SA, I joined the security forces. I saw action in Rhodesia, and South Africa, rising to the rank of Major before early retirement. My area of specialization was in various disciplines of military analysis and intelligence, and wildlife protection. I have since followed my personal interests by establishing my own tour company, training personnel in wildlife protection in harsh environments of the world (some of which are conflict zones), and exploring unrealized hidden wonders of nature. During my career, I have, amongst other interests, been an ex-provincial junior rugby player, sports commentator,Outward Bound instructor, sports writer, administrator, History lecturer, tour leader for a variety of diverse interests, including expeditions though Australian deserts and frozen areas of South America. My motto is "alis volat propiis" or "on his own wing he flies". |
