About Me

Learning is a life long process all to often hindered by the dogmas of religion. I study ancient Near Eastern and Greco-Roman religious texts for evidence of how humans have constructed their reality. From this context, one is able to see how the syncretistic paradigm of the Judeo-Christian traditions manifests themselves in how humans have expressed their identity in culture on the basis of how they (within their cultural identity), understand the concept of the divine. My favorite quote is from the late Biblical scholar, Robert W. Funk: We must develop utter honesty about the truth. We must deepen our care for each other. And we must learn to respect the planet that is our home. Nothing else much matters.

יהוה אלהיך / κυριος ο θεος σου Does the LXX text REALLY reflect the MT here? OR: If you needed a low voltage low current diode and all you had was a 2N3904 transistor; would you use the base - collector junction or the base - emitter junction?
