About Me

A lifelong resident of the environment, I have worked at The Mercury newspaper for more than 10 years, covering local news, politics, the environment and just about anything else my editor asks me to do. I live here in town with my wife and 9-year-old son and am trying hard to leave as small a carbon foot-print as possible -- a difficult endeavor when you live in a 95-year-old house with a furnace and wiring almost as old.

If a tree falls in the forest and no one is there to turn it into timber, how much carbon does it sequester?
