Introduction | I enjoy talking to people with similar interests. Anything African is of particular interest to me--Zimbabwe and South Africa are favorites. Upon retirement, I'd like to return to Michigan State's African Studies Program and earn an M.A. and perhaps beyond in African Studies. Teaching about Africa at the college level would be a very nice way to pursue one the main interests of my lifetime. |
Interests | World travel, ethnic studies, Africa, Asia, photography, gardening, collecting autographs, restoring items people throw away, bargain-hunting, rummage sales, politics and religion, email, and enjoying life with my family. |
Favorite Movies | Classic, black and white movies are favorites. I'm not too fond of modern fare; Hollywood has made a few contemporary social issue films of great interest, I believe. I like Michael Moore's films very much... |
Favorite Music | There are many contemporary African artists who have caught my ear. Music from Mali is wonderful and draws my interest. |
Favorite Books | Any book on contemporary life and issues in Africa are favorites. Books on Buddhism have always caught my attention. |
You're going to the moon! What did you forget to pack?
Some of my favorite books and magazines to pass the time with reading! Also forgot to pack nutritional snacks and enough diet coke. I know I always bring too much underwear and socks, so not to worry in that regard!
