Introduction | My sewing career began on the floor of my Grandmother's home collecting the fabric scraps she discarded to make new clothes for my dolls with pinking shears (she didn't think I could hurt myself with those) and a needle and thread. My real job was threading her machine needle as my eyes were "younger." I didn't grasp that concept then, but sure do now. My interest in heirloom sewing began 2 years ago with the wonderful book Fine Machine Sewing by Carol Laflin Ahles. From there I began sewing for the Memphis Woman's Exchange and my love for classic, Southern Children's Clothing grows with each garment I produce. Thank you and welcome to my blog. I hope that you enjoy your visit. I only wish I had a porch where we could sit and visit. |
