Introduction Alastair Noble is an artist and lives in New York City. He received his M.F.A. from Rutgers University New Jersey USA and his BA (Hons) Hull College of Art England. He exhibits internationally as a sculptor and installation artist. His work represents the interpretation of poetic and literary texts within the public realm. The language games - or labyrinths of the mind - invented by Borges have been the subjects of Noble’s recent art practice. Additionally he has transposed poetic texts of several other modernist poets and writers into sculptures, environmental interventions, installations, performances, prints and drawings. Their texts often emerged as a major structural element within his work. He intentionally reference writers whose radical visions helped fashion our present culture and continue to have a particular resonance, for example Mallarmé, Marinetti, Mayakovsky, Wittgenstein and Borges. He has exhibited extensively over the last 25 years both nationally and internationally. Most recently he has undertaken residencies and exhibitions in Belgium, Bulgaria, Chile and Peru and New Mexico.
