Introduction	For years I was a cocky in your face young man with a take-no-prisoners attitude. I spent eight years as an Airborne Light Infantryman with a chest full of scare badges. Now I am an impassioned seeker… A child of Zen. I know first hand life is suffering… I find comfort in the Three Jewels, The Four Nobel Truths, and The Noble Eightfold Path yet I struggle daily to apply them. My journey has tempered a single-minded idealistic youth with humility, patience, and compassion… I am a devout pacifist to physical violence, and yet confidently, though sometimes passionately assertive against injustice. De Oppressor Liber… Liberate the Oppressed. This seemingly sharp contrast of actions, a polar dichotomy of ideals has been deep within the fiber of my being for as long as I have been able to rationalize what “me” means. It is my every day motivation to find the truth, to know what is right, and be the best human being I possibly can. It is a journey of a thousand miles, and I am very far from what I want to be. My current struggle is with attachment. I fear I will alienate those I love the most the further I walk down this path
