About me

Gender Female
Occupation Fiber artist
Location Fletcher, NC, United States
Introduction I was a painter before 1980. Then the world of fiber art changed my life. I made my first quilt in 1980, and before long I was thinking of quilted pictorial wall hangings. Appliqué was a natural choice with fabrics and embroidery thread becoming my paints and brushes. I’m self-taught in appliqué and quilting. My specialty is humors pictorial appliqué of my own designs. My award-winning quilted wall hangings have been published in many magazines and book, they have also been exhibited nationally, included the AQS, IQAS, NQAS, Quilters Heritage Show, Silver Dollar City Quilt Show, Quilt America!, Dollywood Quilt show, Silver Dollar City, Indiana Heritage Show, The David and Peter Mancuso Shows and many other national quilt shows. I am a quilt show judge and I lecture and teach nationally. I have work in many private collections, the Governor’s Western Residence, the Duke University, Southern Highlands Craft Guild and Winston Salem and Duke Hospitals.
