Introduction It was half of a blind date. Becky was blind, Eric wasn't. He'd seen her at a BYU church activity and was enamored.He introduced himself when he called to ask her out; she accepted. He gave her a ring on their first date (okay, it came in the Cracker Jacks he bought her - but it was a sign) and one year later, Sept. 29, 1972 he slipped a real ring on her finger in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.- - - Well that was 35 years ago and now we have 7 children, 6 of whom are married - Becton(Jenni), Carrie(Matt), Bryn(Kerry), Tyman(Meghan), Melynn(Spencer), Cortney(Shannon)and Tanner. We have 14 grandchildren - Makailyn, Jayden, Bryanna, Hallie, Maci, Darius, Cambry, Jackson, Jaren, Maddox, Mckinlay, Peyton, EmmaLee, & Kylan (until Melynn&Spence have Madelyn in July). Above all else our family is what makes it Fun 2 Be Us.
Interests We love to ballroom dance. Eric was on the BYU Ballroom team and we have taken a few lessons together. There's nothin' finer than cuttin' the rug with the one you love.
Favorite Movies Eric-Remember the Titans with Sweet Home Alabama a close second. John Wayne as a cowboy. John Wayne as a soldier. John Wayne as a hero. John Wayne in black and white. John Wayne as... Becky-the five hour BBC mimi-series of Pride and Prejudice. Watched it 23 times and counting.
Favorite Music Eric- Well it was all country & western when we got married. Now the answer is "all types" (thank goodness:). Becky-Loves Big Band and 50's Rock n'Roll for dancin' of course, Rachmaninoff, Tchaikovsky, everything written and conducted by John Williams, and my heart throbs to anything 1960-72.
Favorite Books Eric - Owns every Louis L'Amour book (great airplane reading), Lord of the Rings Trilogy, The Hobbit, Chronicles of Narnia, The Middle East by Bernard Lewis, 1776, Abraham Lincoln and John Adams autobiographies. Becky-In Search of Identity autobiography of Anwar Sadat, The Princess and the Goblins by George McDonald, Song of Hiawatha by Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, The Tragedy of American Compassion by Marvin Olasky, A Grief Observed by C.S. Lewis, The Far Pavilions and Shadow of the Moon by M.M. Kaye, The Pilgrims Progress by John Bunyan.
