| Introduction | I am fascinated by the people side of information. I am the Public Services Librarian at the Sir James Dunn Law Library, Schulich School of Law. I hold an Interdisciplinary PhD from Dalhousie in Human Information Behaviour, and Sociology of Religion and New Media. |
| Interests | My research interests include human information behaviour, religion and the law, sociology of religion & media and information literacy. In my earlier academic studies I explored intertextuality in Biblical and Ancient Near Eastern texts. On a personal side I enjoy science fiction and I'll admit to watching Survivor. |
| Favorite Movies | I have two classes of favourite movies: the kind I watch again and again for fun and those that moved me but are too heavy for recreational viewing. The first class might include The Avengers, Clear and Present Danger, the Stargate, Independence Day etc. The second class might include Empire of the Sun, Passion of the Christ, Devil in the Dark, and Schindler's List. |
| Favorite Music | Very eclectic. I enjoy light Jazz, easy listening, christian contemporary and classical music. |
| Favorite Books | The Bible, particularly the books of Deuteronomy (God's treaty with his people), Psalms (theology in life), and the New Testament book of Hebrews (new answers to ancient questions.) My favourite author is John Wyndham (Chrysalids, Web, Kraken Wakes, Day of the Triffids). His premise, as I understand it, is that the human race is not nearly as clever as it thinks it is and its arrogance will one day be its undoing. Rather than the usual postapocalyptic writing, Wyndham is clever in how he critiques contemporary society (that is 1930-1960s contemporary society). My favourite Canadian novel is Strange Manuscript found in a Copper Cylinder (19th century satirical SciFi). |
