Ever since I knocked on over 400 doors to help get out the vote for a bond referendum in 1985 (as a 16 year old high school student, I'm 39 now) I have participated in, volunteered for, read and talked about the political system here in the US. I am an open-minded conservative thinking Gen X'er who believes public service is the noblest of endeavors to show appreciation for all that this great nation has given to me.
