| Introduction | Ten years ago I became a mom at the young age of twenty and vowed to be the best parent I could be to my son. With that goal in mind I embarked on a long and bumpy journey to go back to school while juggling work, parenting, and at the time, also a marriage. Four years later my daughter was born and one year later I transferred from my humble community college to one of the top 25 universities in this country, despite the fact that many of my academic counselors believed that would be impossible. In 2007 I received my BA, determined to go to law school next. So, for the past three years I have been on a new journey to get there. This blog begins now, after my first attempt to gain admission to law school, and chronicles some of the challenges that someone like me, a "non-traditional" student faces during such an undertaking all while raising two wonderful children on my own, working and trying to live my so-called life. Mostly it's a therapeutic writing exercise. |
