Introduction I’ve always been passionate about cooking and food. I was never one to “follow the directions” when it came to cooking. I constantly added a few extra ingredients to make it “that much better”. It used to drive my mother crazy, but my stubbornness paid off. I started entering my recipes into contests in 2004. I have won over $12,000.00 in prizes, cash, and trips. I have attended one cook-off, been published in several cooking magazines, invited to appear on KCTS Channel 9 Cooking shows twice, and was flattered to be the cover story of the November 26, 2006 Women’s Journal. I was also featured in the April 9, 2008 Seattle Times. I was fortunate enough to be invited to volunteer at my local YMCA teaching cooking classes to children and adults. My biggest ambition in the realm of cooking contests is to make it to the Pillsbury Bake-off and publish a cookbook that gets on Barnes & Noble shelves.
