Jerry Perisho

About Me

Jerry Perisho is a professional freelance comedy writer. His resume includes monologue jokes used by Jay Leno, David Letterman, Jimmy Fallon and a host of other comedians and radio DJ's across the country. You have read 1000's of his jokes in the NY Times, LA Times, SF Chronicle, Seattle Times and many other publications. In 2004, Jerry was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After having his prostate surgically removed, Jerry entered a clinical trial of experimental chemotherapy (18 weeks) and hormone therapy (2 years). This trial period ended in March of 2007. Jerry had so many funny experiences and met so many unique people during this time, he felt compelled to write a book about the heartbreak of a cancer diagnosis and about the value of maintaining a positive attitude. His book, "I Barf, Therefore I Am: A Sensitive Comedy Writer's Relationship with Cancer" is critically acclaimed. It is available on Amazon.com, on Barnes&Noble.com. Jerry's comedy writing business is once again thriving.
