| Introduction | Thanks for stopping by! Soto Softies was started in early 2007 when an eternal daydreamer finally got behind a sewing machine and started making the cast of characters for the movie going on in her head. The creative force behind Soto Softies is Maritza Soto, a former freelance illustrator who now prefers to create these bright, colorful plush characters chock full of personality, combining hand-stitching and machine sewing, working mainly with wool felt and cotton fabrics. Inspired by vintage toy designs and Zakka, the Japanese art of crafting everyday objects to add beauty to one’s life, Maritza started sewing in the summer of 2006. She has not looked back. She loves to play with color and form and is growing and developing her craft every day. |

How is an ankle unlike a consequence?
The same way a raven is like a writing desk.
