Interests I am interested in how social and environmental relationships are represented in the archaeological record of stone tool production, distribution and use. I apply a geoarchaeological approach to understand site formation processes and stone tool analyses to get at prehistoric traditional knowledge. My doctoral work focused on the effect of volcanism on mobility and craft production within the Samoan Islands. For the last three years I have also conducted research focused on Late Paleo responses to environmental change in the high desert areas of central New Mexico.
