| Introduction | I began my 35-year career in education as a teacher employed in non-school environmental education programs. Next, I taught for ten years in elementary and middle schools. Since 1990 I have been a Professor of Elementary Education at Rhode Island College. I conduct a practical, interactive workshop-style course called CURR 480 Winning a Teaching Position in Any Job Market. Students learn about the job search and hiring process, how to develop cover letters, résumés, and hiring portfolios and how to improve their interview skills. And, students engage in mock job interviews with PreK-12 school personnel and college faculty who provide feedback. |
