| Introduction | I trained in Medicine in Edinburgh and also have a degree in Biochemistry. Most of my working life was in Edinburgh where I trained as a General Physician with a first interest in Haematology and then I became a consultant in Gastro-enterology in the NHS based at the Western Gednral Hospital.I was also a Reader in the University of Edinburgh. I became a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh. I ran a research laboratory where my interest was dietary fibre. I travelled widely talking on the subject. I have wrtiien 5 books and appproximately 250 reviewd scientific papers. |
| Interests | Nutrition is an important science. I wrote a textbook Principles of Human Nutrition which had two editions. This blogging site is the information which would have been included in the third edition. I hope that the varous points covered are of interest. |
