Introduction David, host of KETR's "Latin Soul," was born in Madrid, Spain, and moved to the United States in 1999 to teach Spanish. After teaching Spanish in a variety of educational settings including a New Orleans middle school, Tulane University, and UT-Arlington, he accepted a teaching job with the Department of Literature and Languages at A&M-Commerce as assistant professor of Spanish. It was at Tulane University that Hervas obtained his Ph.D. in Linguistics, and found his ear for radio at the university's student-run radio station, WTUL. He then went on to host "The Latin Journey" at WUTL from 2003-2005. The program has since evolved into "Latin Soul," airing Tuesdays from 9 to 11 p.m., and features Latin Jazz, as well as other Latin rhythms and international jazz styles.
