Introduction Dining in the Dark is a consumer and restaurateur environmental awareness group that is aiming toward lowering the ecological footprint that restaurants produce. With growing concern and severity of the human impact on the environment, it will take effort from every industry, firm and individual to make the necessary change. Often unknowingly, the restaurant industry is a leading contributor. We strive to help restaurants understand the environmental challenges that the industry faces and provide tools in moving forward using sustainable initiatives. We want to educate consumers of their impact on the environment, as well as provide solutions to dining more sustainably. Consumers must recognize that demanding 'greener' restaurants can have effective outcomes. Consumers and restaurateurs have been "left in the dark," thus our objectives are to raise awareness and educate on this alarming issue. A sector-wide green movement and a strong commitment from consumers would greatly contribute to a cleaner, healthier, greener and brighter future!
