Introduction I'm a double cancer survivor, long distance walker & cyclist, and former rally driver and navigator. I've cycled from Lands End to John o'Groats, in various countries including the USA and Australia, completed the ascent of almost 100 Scottish Munros, all 214 'Wainwrights' in the Lake District in only 55 days (in 2009, and again in 2016), cycled 4,500 miles around the coast of Great Britain (2011), and climbed all 542 Lake District ‘Birketts’ (every fell over 1,000’) -and lots more. Altogether I've raised over £100,000 for The Christie, Cancer Research UK and the Rosemere Cancer Foundation, and I was mightily chuffed to receive the British Empire Medal in the 2014 New Year's Honours List. I’m the Event Organiser of the annual Ribble Valley Ride cycle sportive and a keen Rotary member.
