| Introduction | Born in B'ham, Alabama,a sort of Westside story with good academic performance, a crown and a lot of cognitive dissonance. College days at Auburn University - Alpha Omicron Pi sister and Pi Kappa Phi little sister, a full-time party guest (euphemistically speaking) and eventually Bachelor of Fine Arts earned. Then years in NYC, "acting" in Greenwich Village, doing stock and going union and dancing and waitressing followed by paralegal work while imagining myself on the Supreme Court, and all the while also gigging as aerobics mistress. Then, a shift - a move to Chicago, a Masters Degree in Lit/English earned at Northeastern Illinois University followed by adjunct instructor life at that school and City College and Loyola University. And now . . . an escape to the tropics to continue composition instruction -- much hilarity experienced doing that in zip code 33701! The ride continues. Now, in our rip-tide Panhandle. |
