About me

Introduction The Regent University First Response Trauma Team will be deployed from July 9-26 to the country of Romania. The team was invited by the Smiles Foundation to work with gypsy and homeless populations in Cihei, an area known for high levels of domestic violence, sexual trauma, alcoholism and poverty. The trauma team will train Smiles Foundation staff and community leaders to respond to these crisis situations. This opportunity allows Regent students to complete their 120 hours of practicum training for certification as traumatologists with the Green Cross Academy of Traumatology. Follow Psy.D. student R. LaVerne Washington and M.A. in Counseling student Jason Boling as they and their team demonstrate the integration of faith, learning and service through their blog updates during the trip.
