Introduction I love the Lord, plain and simple. I believe He led me to the people that led me to so much of what you read here. My pages have changed from their beginnings...I no longer center wholly on foods as it is so important to balance the kitchen act with the life act. Find things you love...and NO, it does not have to be just one thing...and DO them! God created us to be creative, so learn, give it your best, and don't be afraid to make a few mistakes and even purposefully color outside of the lines from time to time. Jesus said He came to give us life and that, more abundantly. I'm learning how to take Him up on those words and I'd love your company!
Interests Most recent: How I use God's resources to nourish myself and my family in the best way possible. It can be hard work, but worth the effort. I have always loved creating things...whether it's nourishing food or handicrafts such as my 'Nana's Little Lamb Puffs' dryer balls. I am particularly interested in making items that are useful or that might become heirlooms, like pen & ink portraits of precious children.
Favorite Movies Sgt.York...very old oldie, yet carries a good dose of what America's missing today. "Strike Up the Band!"...LOVE Rooney's performance in that one...and several other old ones. A recent favorite is "Blind Side" w/Sandra Bullock. And I love romance, so "You've Got Mail" and "Sleepless in Seattle" still float my boat.
Favorite Music Depends on mood. I like just about everything except really hard, 'head-bangin' music. Soft Jazz, bright Classical and Easy-listening are my 'around the house' go-to's. Contemporary Christian is where I go for a lift as long as the music doesn't overpower the WORD I need to hear! I like pop oldies from 'my era' and real oldies from my parents' era, as well as swing/big-band...GREAT for cleaning!...and every now and then, a little bit of country because it takes me back to the days of camping with Sr. Chief's family.
Favorite Books Thrillers that aren't demonic, but are believable and so well written, I can't find the flaws and am actually surprised by the ending. Happy endings always preferred. (I really wish the book, "The Notebook" had ended the way it ended in the movie!)
