Interests | I received a Bachelor of Business Management and Marketing and a minor in Leadership Studies from the University of South Florida. I am currently enrolled to pursue my Master of Education in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies. I have been a fourth grade teacher for four years. During the last three years, I have taught math, science and writing. Prior to teaching, I worked in the insurance and marketing industry. I left the corporate world when I wasn't happy with the "daily grind" that left me drained and unfulfilled at the end of the day. I knew I wanted to do something that bettered the lives of others. Teaching is by far the hardest task I have encountered, but the rewards at the end of most days are priceless. I would not trade my corporate experience for anything. I believe this gives me an advantage as a teacher because I know exactly what skills students need to be successful citizens once they reach adulthood. Daily I embed age appropriate life skills that will start preparing students for the real world. My fourth grade classrooms have consisted of a variety of learners on multiple levels - ranging from first to fifth grade. I have a special education co-teacher in the classroom when I am teaching math and writing to assist in differentiating the core instruction for students' needs. |
