Introduction I take care of the roots of my family tree to honor those who came before and to teach those who are here now. In addition to just finding dates of birth and death, I believe we must understand the times in which our ancestors lived to help us to discover who they were and, in turn, who we are today. Their lives are not isolated from us, ending only with their death. Their values, ideas, and teachings continue to influence us. I hope my research brings enjoyment and discovery to all it touches. I also hope that through my research I am able to help others find their family roots. The majority of my ancestors settled in and around the small towns of Ripley, Ohio and Dover, Kentucky. Some of my family surnames are Becker, Beyersdoerfer, Clark, Dean, Gates, Germann, Haitz, Judd, Koewler, Linn, Montgomery, Nower, Stairs, and Wayson. I also research the families of my husband which include Dailey, Helbling, Koehler, Pfeffer, Rice, Schwendeneck, and Vice. These families also settled in the Brown County, Ohio and Mason County, Kentucky area as well as in Bath and Fleming Counties in Kentucky.
