About me

Gender Female
Industry Non-Profit
Occupation President of the Center for Renewal
Location Houston, TX, United States
Introduction I am a writer, speaker, teacher, social entrepreneur, founder of the Center for Renewal and the WorkFaith Connection in Houston, and am now teaching in the Honors College of Houston Baptist University. In my earlier life I was an international television correspondent in Europe, a Reagan White House appointee, served the Heritage Foundation on Capitol Hill and Hillsdale College. My beloved husband Winston and I have raised (and survived) four children who were all teenagers in the same decade, who are now making their way into adulthood. My Potomac fever is in remission. In faith, I am a member of the Tiber Swimming Team. My cultural wingspan includes working on the night shift assembly line putting together the wiring for Mustangs and Cougars, and having dinner with the Queen of England. Every two weeks I get to speak to, and hug, a roomful of convicted felons and former drug addicts -- an experience I haven't had since I worked in Washington. Creative outlets include writing, painting, singing and playing the piano.
Interests The True, the Good and the Beautiful. The continuing Great Conversation. Renewing souls, communities and the culture. Awakening the intellect. Mutual transformation through love.
