What kind of tape is best for creating a sculpture?

I'm sure most people would say "duct tape" -- you know the old joke: It has a light side and a dark side, and it holds the universe together. Forget about duct tape, painters tape is where it's at. It's got a good amount of stickiness, but isn't so sticky that you can't reposition it. And beyond that, it comes in a wide variety of colors and sizes.
