Introduction | My name is Austin Guidry and I am a university graduate with a degree in History and International Studies. In September 2011, I returned from a 6 1/2 month stay in China as Lanzhou University of Technology's first-ever exchange student. I learned a lot more than language during my time there and what I want is to share my fascination with China with you. My goal right now is to become fluent in Mandarin Chinese and be able to share the adventures and experiences I had in China. I am currently preparing to return to China as an English teacher and am currently with schools in Shandong and Heilongjiang, although I will likely choose to go to Shandong, Zibo specifically. |
Interests | China, specifically the language and differences in lifestyles and cultural values, have really taken a hold on me the past year or so. I can't get enough of it! |
Favorite Movies | House of Flying Daggers, Boondock Saints, The Warlords, Red Dragon |
Favorite Music | Kate Rusby, Nickel Creek, Stars, Peter Bradley Adams |
Favorite Books | Dean Koontz books, "Chinese Lessons" by John Pomfret, "When A Billion Chinese Jump" by Jonathan Watts |
