About Me

I am the son of an Army soldier who fought on Bataan December 8th 1941 through April 9th 1942 and endured the Bataan Death March, intial imprisonment in Camp O'Donnell, the Tayabas work Detail, the Cabanatuan Prison Camp, a ride on the Nissyo Maru Hellship and a year as a slave laborer under the Japanese at Keisen #23 prison camp some 30-40 miles from Nagasaki. He was repatriated in October 1945 and weighed a mere 88 pounds. My Blog is a poor attempt to bring to light on some truths that I have discovered in my path to discover information about the exploits of my father and others like him.

I had never been a fan of Douglas MacArthur after reading dozens of books about WWII in the Pacific. I found him vain, petty and thin skinned elite snob with an exaggerated sense of his own abilities, and thought he should have been fired for military incompetence and insubordination after more than one incident.
