From 2011-12 she founded and edited the Transition Network's Social Reporting Project, based on the community Norwich blog, This Low Carbon Life. She was born in London in 1956 and worked as a journalist and editor in London, specialising in design, lifestyle and the shift of cultural values. Her five earlier works of non-fiction, range from a collection of essays about food, Offal and the New Brutalism (Heinemann) to the travelogue, Reality Is the Bug That Bit Me in the Galapagos (Flamingo).
