| Introduction | Ben Lockerd holds an M.A. degree from the University of Toronto and a Ph.D. from the University of Connecticut. He is Professor of English at Grand Valley State University in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and is the director of the English M.A. Program there. He has received the GVSU Alumni Association’s Outstanding Educator Award. He is the author of two books: The Sacred Marriage: Psychic Integration in “The Faerie Queene” (Bucknell UP, 1987) and Aethereal Rumours: T. S. Eliot’s Physics and Poetics (Bucknell UP, 1998) He is past-president of the T. S. Eliot Society and currently serves as Secretary of the Russell Kirk Center. He wrote the introduction to a new edition of Russell Kirk’s book Eliot and His Age. |
