About Me
My work brings me into contact with many different types of organisations; public and private sector, both for profit and not-for-profit. I meet and work with people from different countries with different perspectives and ideas. I find this enormously fascinating and I love my work. In order to continue my own learning and development, I am studying a doctoral program at Ashridge (www.ashridge.org.uk) and this site is one of the ways I hope to solicit thoughts and feedback from others, like you, as part of my doctorate inquiry. As a result of my work and experience, I've developed an interest in what I call a relational world view and enjoy the challenging reframe of my way of being as a consultant that comes when thinking about organisations as complex social systems. If it might be true that we socially construct much of what we think of as an organisation, then this offers a whole new set of possibilities for helping people improve the way they relate to one another while working. (It may also have an impact on other social systems such as families but for the purpose of this inquiry, I am studying what happens in working environments).
Interests
- I am a consultant specialising in organisational change. I help people think about what's happening and how they are choosing to respond. My work sometimes gets referred to as management consultancy
- change management or organisation development. In practical terms I do a lot of coaching and facilitate a lot of conversations. Typically clients seek help from people like me when things are stuck or difficult
- when normal ways of working have broken down or are not working smoothly. In other words
- this work is principally focused on relationships.
