Introduction Welcome to my world, and maybe yours too... A year after my mother passed away, 9 years after being diagnosed with Alzheimer's and 2 years after my mother-in-law was diagnosed with Frontal Lobe Dementia, and a number of years caring in part for my elderly father (currently 88), while also facing two daughters both barely over 18, both beautiful, intelligent and strong (and helping me to understand all of the mistakes I made raising them), I decided that I had somethings to say. I have a husband also, but we'll leave that for another blog... The thing about being part of the so called "sandwich generation" is that there is alot of humor there, sprinkled in among the stress and challenges. Self preservation has led me to focus on that as much as possible, which I calculate to be about 25% of the time. I'm working on increasing that, but it's a slow process. Some of the post will, I think, be funny, some sad and a few angry. If you are doing this sandwich thing, you understand the mix of emotions, all coming at a time when your body is also turning against you, nothing that good conversation and wine can't improve...

At what point do we become the old people taking care of the old people? And who came up with the name "Depends?' Depends on what??
