| Introduction | I am an eternal optimist who believes that discussing dynamics of power and privilege allow a space for change in our culture. This blog is a place for us to openly discuss our struggles, strengths and shortcomings. Hopefully, by talking about the taboo, we will grow as individuals and a people. I named it after my four cats. I am an educator, and I was sharing about them one day in class, and it occured to me that I couldn't talk about "playing with my cats" without getting chuckles from students. In this moment, I decided to begin reclaiming taboo topics for those whom they belong to, hence the name: Pussys 4 Progress, named after my rockin' awesome kittens who are very progressive for their species. Seriously though, they are a sibling set, and I have watched them care for and take care of each other. I wish people were as loving as they are! |
