| Introduction | I am one of those writing full time to establish the sentience, or consciousness, of animals in the literature. Having spent my life observing wild animals, painting them, and taking notes on their behaviour, I am convinced through my own experiences that they are intelligently aware, or conscious. Though most of my writing is about sharks, because they are the most endangered, I have spent many years observing other animals too, especially birds and the wildlife of Canada, my original country. |
