Occupation Frame builder
Location Talent, Oregon, United States
Introduction The seeds of Wolfhound Cycles were planted in 2001 when Fred Cuthbert built his first bike frame at the United Bicycle institute in Ashland, Oregon. Frequent relocations and a brief stint in a graduate program in Arizona prevented these seeds from fully sprouting until early in 2004. Cuthbert came to the realization at this time that Southern Oregon is where he was meant to be. Finding part time employment at a local bike shop allowed Fred to resume the cultivation of his deep passion - building custom bicycles. This obsession continued to grow, and soon the orders were backed up enough to require a full time effort. Today the shoots of Wolfhound have reached from Oregon to the east coast while touching down in several states in between. The company's name honors a deceased canine friend as well as mascot that reflects on the strength and speed of this unique breed, reflected in Fred's affinity for 29" wheeled mountain bikes, as Irish Wolfhounds are the tallest canine breed.
Interests building and riding bikes.
