Introduction was organized in 1855 and the original building erected in 1860 with two entrances through large Gothic doors off Walnut Street. Originally the congregation faced east towards Xenia Avenue with the choir seated at the back. The church was renovated in 1910 which included turning the congregation to face West and adding another portion of the building on the east side containing the organ in the loft, an entrance off Xenia Avenue, a bell tower and a well-lighted room for study, counseling and prayer.
