About Me
As an environmentalist, and more specifically a conservationist, I had become disillusioned with the mainstream conservation movement. I'd supported charities for years - where had all my money gone? Why hasn't it been spent wisely, why aren't there more outcomes? On the agenda - more destruction, more species going extinct, faster rates of global warming. But then I started looking at economics, and I realised the solutions had been staring us in the face for years. My philosophy - market capitalism can work if environmentalists participate, so let's participate. Sustainability means environment, social AND economic - so let's start doing the economic. Let's start helping these developing countries to make money from their wildlife and let's make it fair. So we started a volunteer conservation company called WOX in 2003. The idea is to create a sound conservation business that provides solutions for a new generation of people who care about the environment and are looking for a way to make a difference.
