About Me

Just a guy, trying to make a difference. . I'm a career teacher and educator who got sidetracked for a dozen years into the museum world. Eventually I wised up and got back into hands-on education at a public access television station where I taught kids how to write, shoot, and edit their own mini documentaries for cablecast. That was a very satisfying four year gig. One fine day I dropped my snow shovel, left the snowy climes of Michigan behind me and moved to Western Maryland with my wonderful artist wife. Now, living on the shoulder of South Mountain we are enjoying life to the fullest. I continue to be an educator. For six months of the year I'm a Park Ranger at Antietam National Battlefield, and for the other six months I'm the sternest substitute teacher in Western Maryland. I also enjoy making videos. Check out my YouTube movies at; http://www.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=mannie1952 Cheers!

You have to dig a hole to China. Where do you start?

The nearest Walmart, why dig when you can drive?
