| Introduction | STYLE, SHE WROTE. Making fashion easy to follow -- and easy to own. ABOUT THE FOUNDERS. Native New Yorkers Laura and Crista not only share the same DNA; they also share interest in fashion, design, and pop culture trends. Crista is a writer for Bridal Guide magazine (http://www.bridalguide.com), and Laura serves as the Fashion Editor of BELLA NYC magazine (www.bellanyc.com). Laura has also published on historic and contemporary fashion for the Smithsonian Institution, Berg Publishers, Federated Media, and DAP Press, among others. The sisters have been featured on countless fashion blogs and in New York magazine’s Reader Look Book. Their original S.S.W. pen-names (Jackie and Lynnie) were borrowed from a childhood game the girls would play, where they would explore their home and its surroundings as their alter egos. As they grew older, the alternative names stuck. When Laura and Crista launched STYLE, SHE WROTE. in 2008, they chose to use these fictional names to pay homage to their roots and their beginnings as a duo. In 2012, the sisters reverted to their given names. |
