Introduction I come from a family of artists. My mom and sister both have Art Degrees. My mom was the President of the Council of Fine Arts in the town we lived in and all three of them win awards with their paintings. I am NOT an artist. I am slightly color-blind and cannot draw any better than the average three year old. Needless to say, I felt very inferior to them and privately wondered if I had been accidentally switched at birth. Mom tried to be kind about it but, let's face it, I did not fit in to their World of Art-and, seriously, did not really care who painted what, way back when. I did not discover, until I retired from law enforcement (what more proof does anyone need for the 'switched at birth' theory?), that I DO have a talent for the intricacies of Seminole patchwork and quilting. I was totally shocked when I won a blue ribbon on my first quilt (a mixture of Seminole patchwork and machine embroidery) at the county fair. Mom was so happy and proud. She flatly refutes the 'switched a birth' nonsense since I look like a chubby version her.
